MAKE IN METAL 2022 SUMMER CLASSES

We are DELIGHTED to be working once again with the Banff Community, Learning & Development team within Aberdeenshire Council to offer TWELVE WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE in Summer 2022!

During July and August 2022, we will be running 12 jewellery making workshops ‘free of charge’ to local young people thanks to funding from Aberdeenshire Council’s OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE GRANT.

This programme is run in partnership with the Banff Community Learning and Development (CLD) team. All young people in the Banff Academy School Network (current and previous Banff Academy pupils aged 11 to 25) will be given priority to book places in the workshops initially. Following this priority booking period, young people aged 11-25 (of Secondary School age and above) that are resident in Aberdeenshire will get the chance to book the remaining places.

Our aim is to provide local young people with an opportunity to learn a new skill, boost self-confidence and improve well-being through creativity. There are 6 different types of workshop for each of the two age groups. Please read the following notes on the booking process.

To apply for a workshop place please follow the application guidelines:

From Monday 6th June 2022 to Sunday 26th June 2022 - Priority Booking Period for Banff CLD Network Only
Bookings will be open initially for young people from the Banff Academy School Network only
(i.e. you can only enroll during this first week if you are aged between 11 years and 25 years and are either attending Banff Secondary school or have previously attended Banff Secondary school).

From Monday 27th June 2022 - Booking Open for Aberdeenshire residents aged 11-25 years (one workshop per person only please).
Please enroll for a maximum of one workshop place only on the week commencing 27th June
(i.e. young people aged 11-25 (of Secondary School age and above) that are resident in Aberdeenshire will get the chance to book a maximum of one workshop place per person). This is to ensure as many people as possible get an opportunity to benefit from this funding.

From Monday 4th July 2022 - Additional places can be booked by Aberdeenshire residents aged 11-25 years .
All Applicants are invited to enroll for an additional workshop place from Monday 4th July 2022 subject to availability
(i.e. young people aged 11-25 (of Secondary School age and above) that are resident in Aberdeenshire may apply for additional workshop places subject to availability).

Priority is given to Banff School Network as the funding application was made by this local group. Please get in touch if you would be interested in sourcing funding for your own local area - we would be delighted to work with any new interested groups and funding partners to provide more opportunities in the future.

Full details of each of the workshops can be viewed here or by clicking on the individual date/time links below.
