vanilla ink the smiddy - graduate award 2019

It all started in september 2019…

Vanilla Ink is a “not for profit”, community interest company which means our profits are being constantly re-invested into the business. We are committed to offering young people opportunities and access to craft making skills to educate, inspire and empower.

Every year, Vanilla Ink offers a Graduate Award and this year The Smiddy got to be involved and offered an award too. Our Graduate Play Award was offered to one graduate who demonstrated skill, talent, passion, displayed something a bit different and who showed progression of their work.

Andrea Dritschel was awarded both the Vanilla Ink Graduate Award and The Smiddy Play Award. She visited us for a week in September 2019, taking part in a fully funded residency, giving her the opportunity to play and discover.
